Our newest addtion! :)

Carter James Cook is here! We love our little bundle of joy....soo much that I have no time to blog anymore.lol

Heres the scoop:
September 3rd I went to my 40 week check up with hopes they would say "Oh hey look, you're in labor"...but that was wishful thinking. Instead that day they told me that my day to be induced got pushed back a day (which is an eternity while THAT pregnant).
Naturally after my appointment I went home and cried myself to sleep. When I woke up 3 hours later I woke up to extreme pain. All I could think was "there is no way these are contractions because that would be too good to be true".  By 2 am I completely convinced myself (with my moms help) that I was indeed in labor and this wasn't another false alarm. Yay!

We got to KU medical at 2:30 am and I was already dilated to a 5 when I got there. I was immediately admitted to my room and things progressed quickly all on their own. I endured a few contractions before receiving the most AMAZING drugs invented (epidural). After that things were fine and dandy. I pushed from 7am-8:38am & at that point our little boy entered the world!
My exact words at that moment were...
                                                          "Mom, I feel so skinny"
Carter weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and he was 20.5 inches long. He was perfect from the beginning...cone-head and all ;)
We have LOVED having him join our family and he has amazed us daily! Exactly a week after he was born we gave him a bath and layed him on our bed as we layed there watching him and he randomly rolled over! Of course it was from his tummy to his back, so not AS impressive but still crazy! He is a very strong baby and can hold his head up extremely well.

Also in the last while I had my 19th birthday! That morning I work up and texted Mitchell "If you would have told me a year ago that I would wake up to an explosive diaper on my 19th birthday I would think you were drunk". Because yes. That was indeed my present from my little man!

My day was amazing filled with shopping, amazing food and lots of fun! :)

Until next time folks!
